CLIMATE CHANGE:
A CHALLENGE AND AN OPPORTUNITY
FOR A NEW SUSTAINABLE AND
ADAPTIVE ECONOMIC MODEL

MISSION

Europe aims to become the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Zero climate impact means achieving  net zero emissions of greenhouse gases, i.e. the gases emitted into the atmosphere by human activities and responsible for increasing temperatures.
The European Commission has adopted a series of proposals to guide EU policies on climate, energy, transport and taxation towards reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.

Italy has set the goal of achieving a 30% share from renewable energy sources in gross final energy consumption by 2030 through the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (INECP). According to the INECP, by 2030, Italy will have to install 40 GW of renewable capacity, of which 28 GW will come from large-scale projectsprimarily from solar (+20 GW) and wind (+8 GW) sources.

THE EUROPEAN GREEN DEAL PROVIDED THE DETAILED PLAN
FOR THIS TRANSFORMATION

Described by Ursula von der Leyen as a historic step for Europe, comparable to the moon landing, The GREEN DEAL includes various initiatives and strategies to combat climate change, promote sustainable agriculture and ensure a cleaner and healthier environment. This will create new opportunities for innovation, investment and employment, as well as:
